New Philips Hue Bulbs and Motion Sensor

Philips has released a few new additions for your Philips hue system. Click the links below for pricing and availability at Amazon.

  • Hue White & Ambiance Wireless Dimming Kit – (Hue A19 White & Ambiance + Hue Wireless Dimmer)

The Hue motion sensor is now available for purchase, most of these products are out of stock or not listed yet at most retailers, but keep checking back here for updates.

How to Identify the New Hue A19 White & Color with Richer Colors

With there now being a few generations of the Philips hue bulbs it may be difficult to determine if the bulb you are about to purchase is the latest version. The latest version will have a green icon on the top right of the packaging that states “Richer Colors”, this is the most recent version that produces more of the color spectrum and will provide better greens and blues. The New hue starter kits that feature this bulb also have this richer colors logo.

Another key difference is the base of the new bulbs is white instead of the previous silver/pearl color.

New Philips Hue App 2.0 Released

Philips has released the new version of the Philips Hue application. This application features a completely new user interface, new features and aims to be more intuitive than the current hue application.

The old Philips hue application will still be available for some time so you won’t have to relearn a completely new way of using your hue system right away. As with any new application it will take time to get used to the changes and learn where the options you use the most are and how to configure them.

This update features Rooms which allows you to organize your Philips hue lights into groups. Within these rooms you can create scenes and select different light configurations.

This application is available for both IOS and Android.
