Philips has released a few new additions for your Philips hue system. Click the links below for pricing and availability at Amazon.
- Hue White & Ambiance Wireless Dimming Kit – (Hue A19 White & Ambiance + Hue Wireless Dimmer)
The Hue motion sensor is now available for purchase, most of these products are out of stock or not listed yet at most retailers, but keep checking back here for updates.
How to Identify the New Hue A19 White & Color with Richer Colors
With there now being a few generations of the Philips hue bulbs it may be difficult to determine if the bulb you are about to purchase is the latest version. The latest version will have a green icon on the top right of the packaging that states “Richer Colors”, this is the most recent version that produces more of the color spectrum and will provide better greens and blues. The New hue starter kits that feature this bulb also have this richer colors logo.
Another key difference is the base of the new bulbs is white instead of the previous silver/pearl color.
Philips has announced today the Philips Hue Motion Sensor
The Motion sensor is a wireless sensor that requires 2 AAA batteries. The sensor spread is 100 degrees and can be adjusted up to 30 degrees horizontal and 30 degrees vertically. You will be able to add up to 12 sensors per bridge, retail price is going to be $39.95
When the sensor picks up movement it will turn on a scene and after it no longer detects motion it will automatically turn off the lights, it is not known yet how long or if that it also adjustable in the hue application. You can have a different scene come on depending on if it is night or day.
This product will be released in selected markets in October 2016.
